"koi dekh lega" i said no1 is here.... kisss me.... she said no... i hold her hand turn her & smooch her tightly.... bt the bad luck izz tht 1of our teacher came there..... & said "agar tumhe yahi karna h toh kahi aur jakar karo schl ka naam bhi kyo khrab kr rahe ho"..... that was the most embarrassing movement 4 me.... my g.f start cryng ... A one of a kind Theatre Workshop for Young Adults! Starting July'13
Pomegranate’s Experience Theatre!
Pomegranate brings to you yet again a brand new experience, this time in the world of Theatre for Young Adults! A unique comprehensive, 9 month, multi faculty program which allows young adults to experience theatre in all its glory with multiple audience encounters.
To see a story performed is to see a story transformed. The power of theatre can unlock hidden meanings with a single stress or inflection, imprint an event on your mind or make you fall in love with a character. Pomegranate's Experience Theatre program deals with voice clarity, projection, inflection, pauses and exercises for cultivating the voice. Body language, gestures, role playing, improvisation and use of physical space and props innovatively, will underpin the entire program.
A very unique feature of this MULTI FACULTY program is the planned periodic audience facing sessions where young actors will get to flex their performative talent in front of varied groups of people in a variety of spaces.
Creating a story, visualizing it and extracting its performative essence through appropriate voice and body language with inspired team work will form the substance of this dynamic theatre program.

The program will be anchored by Gunjan Gupta who is Head of Workshop Experience at the Pomegranate Workshop. Gunjan holds a Master’s Degree in Child Development, and has participated in a Theatre in Education program at the National School of Drama, New Delhi. She combines these specializations with her project management skills to manage and facilitate programs at The Pomegranate Workshop™. She also brings with her her considerable theatrical experience, having acted in several plays with Third Bell Productions, Funtoosh Players and Balancing Act Productions.
Program Faculty
Rohit Tiwari is an Actor, Writer & Voiceover Artist with a combined Media and theatre experience of over 12 years. He has acted in the feature film ‘Dhobhighat’, Directed by Kiran Rao and has two more movies under production. Rohit has been a Radio Jockey with Radio Mirchi and Big 92.7fm and has done voiceovers for several television commercials, radio spots and animation series. He has written 3 plays and a movie. His most recent appearances on television have been on Crime Patrol on Sony and Chidiyaghar on SAB TV. Rohit has conducted several workshops for various organizations including Pomegranate and has generated a series of radio plays with children at Pomegranate in addition to conducting several facilitator training modules at Pomegranate.
Lovleen Misra is a writer-actress based in Mumbai. She has been part of such theatre collectives as Barry John’s Theatre Action Group (TAG) and the Jana Natya Manch. As an actress she has worked on stage with prominent directors like Habib Tanvir, Naseeruddin Shah, M.K.Raina, Sunil Shanbag, and Lilette Dube among others. As a film actress she has worked with Govind Nihalani, Ketan Mehta, Mani Ratnam, and Anurag Kashyap among others. She has also done radio plays with BBC, including the award winning A Suitable Boy. She has been conducting children’s drama and story telling workshops for 20 years.
'Gerish Khemani: "Words are all I have, the rest is quite expensive", remarks Gerish, while surveying the world around. Gerish is an M.A (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Mumbai. He has been determinedly pursuing theatre since 2006. He embarked on this magical expedition with Working Title's 'Once Upon A Tiger' and has acted in a number of other productions (Arabian Night, Look Back in Anger, Tukra's dream, Three Short Plays by Ranjit Hoskote and Kachra Tales). Gerish has also directed children's productions such as Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie, Charandas Chor by Habib Tanvir, The Wizard of Oz, Sammy: The Word That Broke an Empire for the Shishuvan School. He has also directed street plays for Jai Hind and H.R Colleges for the inter-collegiate Malhar competition in addition to directing 'Unveiling', a play on life and learning, which was performed at the Kala Ghoda festival 2012 among other places.
Course dates are 6th July 2013 to February 2014. Classes will be conducted only on Saturdays.
